Eleventh Dream Day
“The career of the noisy guitar unit Eleventh Dream Day -- one of the most resilient and criminally under appreciated bands to rise from the Midwestern underground community -- was a textbook study in alt rock endurance; despite a nightmarish major-label tenure, ill-timed roster changes, and commercial indifference, the group persevered, ultimately emerging as elder statesmen of the flourishing Chicago independent scene of the mid-‘90s.”
-Jason Ankeny, AllMusic
Join us for an increasingly rare set by Chicago’s ever ferocious Eleventh Dream Day, a band that has been putting out records and touring in vans since 1983. This now five-some keeps the barn burning post punk flame glowing bright with new records every few years including the most recently released double record Since Grazed (Comedy Minus One, 2021). The band includes long time members Rick Rizzo (Palace, Edith Frost), Janet Bean (Freakwater, The Horse's Ha, Moxie Tung), and Doug McCombs (Tortoise, Brokeback, Basic) along with Jim Elkington (Jeff Tweedy, Brokeback) and Mark Greenberg (The Coctails, Archer Prewitt). EDD will rattle the floorboards and possibly the fillings right out of your mouth. Bring your earplugs. It will get loud.
