We get Classical, then Alternative this Sunday Night at
Ravenswood Manor Park

...featuring The Gaudette Brass Quintet and the Finley Knight Band.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all, we have someting for your classical music tastes!  And, this will be a Knight to remember at Ravenswood Manor Park.  And it's all for FREE!

On Sunday evening, August 1, at 7 PM, come on out to Ravenswood Manor Park, Manor and Eastwood Avenues, for two unique acts.

We return to the Manor with the classical sounds of the Gaudette Brass Quintet. Founded in 2004, these artists are devoted to presenting serious brass music at the highest level of excellence.  They are committed to expanding the brass quintet repertoire by commissioning new works from modern composers, in addition to Renaissance music and classic brass quintet works.  They have performed throughout the country, and it will be a rare treat to soothe your need for some "bad-ass brass!"

The Quintet will be followed at 8 PM by the Finley Knight Band.  This Chicago-based band has been playing together for nearly a decade, with music falling somewhere between funk-rock grooves and alternative-jam.  You will find that listening to the Finley Knight Band will be impossible without a little dancing on the side!

This show is sponsored by the Horner Park Advisory Council and all of our neighborhood subscribers.

If you have not subscribed to our 16th Season, please go to our website, www.hornerpark.org to learn how to support this wonderful neighborhood tradition, and how you can get involved!

Don't forget that it's all FREE!

SCHEDULE CHANGE: The June 6th concert at Ravenswood Manor Park was rained out.  Fulton County Line will be back to try it again on Sunday, August 8 at 7PM at Ravenswood Manor Park.  Mark your calendars and come out next week for some sweet country sounds and line-dancing.  It's sure to be a mighty fine time!

Thank you for your support of the Horner Park Advisory Council's Summer Concert Series. Thanks for your support and interest in our neighborhood parks!

The Horner Park Advisory Council, with the Chicago Park District, announces 16th Season of Free Summer Concerts

The Horner Park Advisory Council Presents The Summer Concert Series!  This is our 16th season of free summer concerts at Ravenswood Manor Park and Horner Park.

The season opens with "Juiced up June" on Sunday evening, June 6th at Ravenswood Manor Park with Fulton County Line at 7PM.  This is a very popular country act in town, and a big feature of the evening will be a line dance caller, to get your toes tappin' and feet shufflin'.

Join us a week later on Sunday evening, June 13 at Ravenswood Manor Park at 7 PM for the Blues styles of Chicago's legendary Charlie Love Band

Two weeks later, come out to Horner Park on Saturday night, June 26 for the ever popular Buzz Kilman and the Rocket Scientists, to be followed by a movie on Horner Hill: Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark (Yes, the Original, and still the best!)

Two more Friday evenings follow in Horner for "Jammin' July!"  Colin Gilmore opens at 7:00 with some Alternative Rock, followed at 8:30 by the Louisiana Sounds of Grayson Capps and the Stumpknockers on Friday, July 9 at 7 PM.  On Friday, July 16, local rising star Alex Abbey will perform a short acoustic set at 7, followed by Rocker Jonny Rumble at 7:30, and Bluesmen Andre Williams & the Goldstars take the stage at 8:45.

Return for "Awesome August" in Ravenswood Manor Park.  Sunday August 1 at 7 PM features a unique group: The Gaudete Brass Quintet, follwed by the Finley Knight Band at 8.

Two weeks later on Sunday August 15 at 7 PM we'll enjoy the Honky-tonk sounds of the Lawrence Peters Outfit for two solid sets.

Our season closes on Sunday, August 29 at 7 PM with our old friend Rokko Jans and Friends, a neighborhood tradition for many years.

Contributions and sponsorships are still available.  Call 773-612-7887 for more information on becoming a sponsor.  Support can be made via PayPal on this website.  Contributors who give by May 10th will have their name appear in the concert program.

It all promises to be a great summer in the parks.  Please come out and enjoy the shows!
