Minutes
December 5, 2011
President Peter Schlossman called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM, the meeting was held at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro. A quorum was determined to be present.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the 11/07/11 meeting were approved unanimously without change.
Report of the Treasurer
MB checking $6190.94
Chase checking $5208.44
Chase saving $5126.99
Paypal $1125.18
Total $17,651.55
All accounts are reconciled and consistent with records and bank statements.
There are no outstanding bills - Gill Athletics has been paid for the volleyball net part.
Concert Committee
Gina Hutchings will assist in the marketing effort this year on a similar basis that Susan Bauschke worked last year.

Dog Friendly Area
No report.
Garden Committee
Finished planting the donated Greencorps plants and bulbs in the south-west parkway corner of Buffalo Park. The vegetable gardens will be reassessing their options for edible gardening in the Horner Park system next season.
Park Briefs
Horner Park
December 12-23 scheduled for bleacher installation and gym floor polishing. Inspection of the elevator is expected to be complete by the week of December 23rd.
There is an issue with the installation of the handicapped seats in the bathrooms; Tom McManamon is pursuing a resolution.
Peter Schlossman communicated HPAC’s support for continuation of the woodshop instructor position to CPD leadership and requested a decision in favor of the program.
A net sleeve tie-off part for the volleyball net was ordered.
No Pro Scout Clinics will be offered in 2012 because of on-going construction.
Tom McManamon requested that HPAC to provide financial support of up to $300 for Jim MacRoberts’ retirement party. This motion was approved unanimously. Larry Brown proposed a plaque for the woodshop, in honor of Jim Roberts.
Jacob Playlot
The pirate ship was demolished by CPD crews the week of Nov. 14 due to safety concerns.
Tom McManamon met with Alderman Pawar to discuss Jacob Playlot. The 47th ward is committed to financial support for upgrading the park. The neighborhood and CPD would share the cost of any improvements. No program or budget for upgrades to the park was suggested. Nate Hutcheson was informed of the meeting and it expected that they would lead the effort with HPAC’s support to assist with programming, design and raising the appropriate funds.
Ravenswood Manor
The bulletin board was replaced, and copies of the keys were turned over to HPAC.

New Business
Treasurer Anderson asked to open a savings account at MB Financial. Peter Schlossman, Larry Brown, Kevin Anderson, and Lisa Cleveland signed the savings account paperwork.
John O’Connell called the 33rd ward office about the dumpster that has been parked on the west side of Manor next to Buffalo Park. He was told that it’s there for leaf pick up. John requests that HPAC call the ward office to see if the dumpster can be removed.
Announcements
Colleen Gallagher is taking a new position at CPD and will not be Area Manager after the end of 2011.
The meeting adjourned at 9:12 PM.
